Interpreting is the oral transfer of a spoken text from a source language to a target language. An interpreter interprets the spoken words of a speaker from one language to another language. Here you can find out more about the different modes of interpreting.
Simultaneous interpreters typically sit in a booth, listening to the speaker over headphones and simultaneously speaking into a microphone. The listeners require headphones in order to listen to the interpreters and the speakers require a microphone. Simultaneous interpreters work in pairs, because they have to take turns.
Consecutive interpreters do not require an interpreting booth. The interpreter interprets after the speaker has finished the sentence, paragraph or whole speech. Interpreters use notes as a memory aid.
Interpreting services are charged on a full-day or half-day basis, depending on the total amount of hours and the topic to be interpreted.
I am happy to advise you on the mode of interpreting that bests fits your needs and prepare an individual, non-binding quote. In order to prepare a detailed offer for you, I kindly ask you to send me your request to natalie@mair-intercultural.com. All information sent to me will of course be treated confidentially.
